Today at work, I had to do some research for some giveaways. Boring right? It was, until I learned an interesting spelling fact.

Swag is a slang term for promotional giveaways (word I was looking for). Schwag is a slang term for low grade marijuana (also a Grateful Dead Tribute band).

Surprisingly, I had spelt it correctly. When I Googled to confirm, Google asked, "Did you mean Schwag?" I click and up come links and images of pot, proving, Google knows more than you think.

[Another interesting spelling fact learned while researching this post: Spelt and Spelled are interchangeable. Spelt is the British past participle of spell. Spelled is more commonly used in American English. Nerd alert?]
